Udawalawe National Park

One of the best places to see Sri Lankan elephants, Leopard, Deer, Bear and many more mammals in their natural habitats.Also a good birdwatching site.The closest National park to the capital, Colombo and the third most visited park in the country. A safari in the park is the best way to enjoy the awe-inspiring wildlife.

Elephant Transit Home

Established in 1995, to look after orphaned baby elephants within the park and to release them back into their natural habitat when they are old and fitted enough to fend for themselves. Visitors are allowed to watch the elephant being fed, but not allowed to touch them. Playful baby elephants will make unforgettable memories.

Sankapala Temple

The ancient Buddhist temple is on a rocky mountain with natural dens, caves, and ruins of buildings which were occupied by Buddhist monks. Folklores say the temple was built by the giant “Pussadeva”, a knight in the army of King Dutugamunu. Brahamin inscriptions carved in walls of caves prove that the temple is dating back to the period of King Dutugamunu.

Maduwanwela Walawwa

The historical mansion was built by Maduwanwela Disawe, a regional ruler in 1700s. During 1877-1905 period, the consisted of 121 rooms and 21 inner courtyards. At present with the remaining 43 rooms, courthouse and other ancient structures on the surrounding grounds, the mansion proudly represents the remarkable landmark of Sinhalese ancient architecture.
